Leticia Bufoni, a 29-year-old champion skateboarder from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who currently resides in Southern California, established a new Guinness World Record by completing a skateboard grind from the back of a C-130 Hercules jet at the height of almost 9,000 feet.
The outstanding effort earned her the Guinness World Record for the highest skateboard grind outside the back of a flying airplane.
Leticia boarded a C-130 Hercules, the same aircraft used in the Fast and Furious film series, carrying a nearly 20-pound (9.1 kg) parachute and her skateboard before squeezing out the back of the plane while in flight.
Leticia already held the records for the most medals earned in the female division of summer X Games events (12 in total) and the most skateboard street gold medals. (five total). She is one of the most influential women in skateboarding due to her determination, dedication, and remarkable talent.
It’s absurd to think I’m the first to skateboard inside an airplane and attempt a weak grind while in flight. I had no notion whether or not it was practicable. I have never skateboarded aboard an airplane. Leticia remarked, “I had no idea this project would take as much time as it did.”
