At least five police officers including two Station House Officers (SHOs) of Panyari Police Station were martyred in Mirpurkhas earlier today as suspects opened fire during a raid conducted on a tipoff whereas three robbers including the ‘most-wanted’ bandits Chotu and Qurban Narejo were killed.
The deceased officers include the SHOs Mumtaz Ali Baloch, and Sub-inspector Waris along with constables Muhammad Faisal, Ghulam Hussain and Sajjad Ali.
The area had now been cordoned off and further police contingents have been summoned for subsequent mop up operations.
