LeBron James made history by becoming the first player to score at least 40 points or more against each of the 30 NBA teams. However, his 46 points were not enough to help the Los Angeles Lakers defeat their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, who won 133-115.
While James appears to be only weeks, if not days, away from surpassing fellow Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time regular season points record, the Lakers were considered administrative home underdogs against the Clippers, enjoyed another historic night from James.
LeBron now has 38,120 points in his 20-season NBA career with three teams (the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers), putting him just 177 points behind the mark set by the person born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr.
Tenth straight victory for the Clippers vs. Lakers.
LeBron reached the magic number with 6:45 left in the fourth period thanks to his ninth three-pointer of the contest, which was a personal high in his illustrious career that began just as he was chosen by the Cavaliers first overall in the 2003 Draft. The “King’s” magical night also included scoring at least 40 points against the Clippers for the first time in his career.
