A newly leaked audio clip featuring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan reveals internal conflicts within the party leadership following Islamabad’s chaotic “do-or-die” protest.

The leak emerged shortly after PTI called off its march to D-Chowk, a decision spurred by a government crackdown. This abrupt postponement has ignited intense criticism within the ranks of the former ruling party.

In the leaked audio, Ali confirms that PTI founder Imran Khan had directed the protesters to gather in the Sangjani area of Islamabad, contrary to where the march concluded. “Khan Sahib had specified that the final sit-in spot would be decided once party members assembled in Islamabad, not necessarily at D-Chowk,” Ali stated in the recording.

The senior PTI leader expressed confusion over the misdirection to D-Chowk, which he claims was against Khan’s explicit orders and was witnessed by prominent party figures such as Barrister Gohar and Faisal Chaudhry.

Ali also challenged the involvement of Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, in calling the protest, questioning the bypassing of established party leadership. “Imran Khan has always opposed hereditary politics, so why did Aleema initiate the protest call?” he queried in the audio, suggesting that such decisions should stem from the party leadership.

Furthermore, Ali highlighted that the PTI aimed to initiate negotiations through the protests, following the founder’s strategy. He revealed that Imran Khan was initially unaware of his wife Bushra Bibi’s participation in the protest, a fact later brought to his attention by Barrister Gohar.

Ali criticized the deviation from Khan’s instructions, emphasizing that the decision to hold the sit-in in Sangjani, supported by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, should have been upheld. “We should have adhered to our leader’s directive and halted at Sangjani. Neither Bushra Bibi nor anyone else should undermine the founder-chairman’s decision,” he asserted.
