A Balochistan Levies Sepoy was gunned down on a busy thoroughfare of Quetta yesterday morning in a targeted killing incident.

According to the Kechi Baig Police Station, Sepoy Khadim Hussain was on his way to work on his motorcycle when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on him in the Ghai Khan Chowk area of Sariab Road. Hussain was hit by 9mm bullets in the chest and died on the spot, police said.

Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy where he was identified as Balochistan Levies Sepoy Khadim Hussain from his duty card.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. A case has been registered against unidentified persons and investigations are under way, police sources claimed.
