NEW YORK: Grammy-winning Icelandic singer-songwriter Laufey will stage A Very Laufey Day 2026 in 75 cities across 25 countries on Aug. 23.
The fourth edition will carry the theme “A Celebration of the Arts,” combining museum visits, orchestral performances, ballet, jazz, opera, theatre, bookstores, libraries and cafés.
Laufey told the Associated Press in an interview that the event had become “much bigger than I anticipated.”
She said the 2026 programme was designed to make cultural institutions more inviting to her predominantly Gen Z and Gen Alpha audience.
Participating museums include New York’s Guggenheim Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, London’s Tate Modern and National Gallery, Chile’s Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Seoul’s Daelim Museum.

Laufey established the event in 2023 before releasing her second album, “Bewitched.” She initially created city itineraries that encouraged listeners to visit museums, bookshops and cafés while connecting with other fans outside social media. The official website has published global and city-specific itineraries for the Aug. 23 programme.
