Lahore’s Air Quality Index (AQI) indicates that Lahore has the world’s most polluted air.
Based on the recent readings, Lahore Gulbarge’s AQI was 335, Defence’s was 271, and Model Town’s was 231.
However, the data also indicates that Lahore’s AQI has declined in the last couple of days.
The AQI includes ground-level ozone, particle matter, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. The AQI ranges to measure the air quality are;
- AQI between 151-200 is unhealthy
- AQI between 201-300 is damaging
- AQI above 300 is extremely hazardous
According to scientists, winter’s heavier air causes harmful particles to fall, polluting the atmosphere. As a result, a metropolis is covered with carbon and smoke-polluted particles.
