Lahore Blues delivered a championship-winning performance on Thursday, securing the National T20 Cup with a comprehensive nine-wicket triumph over Peshawar at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.
After Peshawar elected to bat first, Lahore’s bowlers immediately seized control. Salman Mirza emerged as the destroyer-in-chief, claiming impressive figures of 4/21 from his four overs. The left-arm spinner dismantled Peshawar’s batting lineup, supported by Mohammad Irfan (2/20) and Mohammad Rizwan, who removed key batsman Sahibzada Farhan for 17.
Peshawar’s innings never gained momentum, stumbling to 110/9 despite a 38-run partnership between captain Iftikhar Ahmed (34) and Mohammad Zulkifal (32). The total proved woefully inadequate against Lahore’s confident batting lineup.
