The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that all commercial banks and financial institutions nationwide will be closed on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
The closure coincides with the national public holiday of International Workers’ Day, a date recognised worldwide to honour workers’ contributions and rights.
The central bank has announced that all commercial banks and financial institutions will suspend operations for the day. Customers are encouraged to plan their banking activities accordingly.

Labour Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, commemorates the historic struggle for fair wages, reasonable working hours, and improved working conditions.
In Pakistan, the day is marked by rallies, seminars, and events organised by trade unions and workers’ associations, highlighting ongoing efforts to protect labour rights and promote social justice.
