France forward Kylian Mbappé won the FIFA World Cup 2026 Golden Boot with 10 goals, becoming the first player to claim the tournament’s top-scorer award twice.

Mbappé secured the award after scoring twice in France’s 6-4 defeat by England in the third-place playoff. Argentina captain Lionel Messi finished second with eight goals.

The 27-year-old previously won the Golden Boot after scoring eight times at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. His 2026 total made him the first player to score 10 goals in a single edition since West Germany’s Gerd Müller in 1970.

Mbappé also became the World Cup’s all-time leading scorer with 22 goals in 22 appearances, moving one ahead of Messi. Eight of his goals at the 2026 tournament came through braces against Iraq, Senegal, Sweden and England.

Spain midfielder Rodri received the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player after helping his team beat Argentina 1-0 in the final. He led the competition for completed passes, distance covered and player involvement despite recording no goals or assists.

Spain goalkeeper Unai Simón won the Golden Glove after recording seven clean sheets. Defender Pau Cubarsí received the FIFA Best Young Player award.
