The Kwonsiwon app, featured as “Girigo” in the K-drama “If Wishes Could Kill,” has been found on the Play Store and App Store after viewers linked it to the show’s dark storyline.
In the drama, the fictional app is created by an anonymous developer and gives users a 24-hour countdown tied to their deepest wishes.
The real app appears to be a promotional or marketing tool, according to user reactions cited in the source material. It allows users to record a wish video and saves the file to the phone’s gallery.
Reddit users said the app did not trigger a countdown or fulfil any wish. “It records a video and then nothing happens,” one user wrote.
Another Reddit user said the only function they found was video recording, with no connection to the supernatural consequences shown in the series.
The app is rated Age 3+ on app stores, according to the source material, which suggests it does not contain flagged horror or harmful interactive content.
The creators of “If Wishes Could Kill” have not publicly confirmed whether the real Kwonsiwon app is officially connected to the drama.
