KP police involved in electricity theft

Peshawar : The police of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa province of Pakistan has been found involved in electricity theft while it has also been revealed that its a bill defaulter of 60 million rupees to Water and Power Development Authority.

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) is avoiding any action against the police despite the evidences due to the cooperation of police in the province-wide operation against power thefts.

PESCO sources confirmed that at least 10 police stations are involved in power thefts while media also obtained footage of police stations using electricity from illegal hooked connections.

KP police is a bill defaulter of 60 million rupees to WAPDA while Peshawar police is a bill defaulter of 24 million rupees. Despite several letters of PESCO to police, it has not paid the bills yet.
