As the trial of 10 suspects in the 2016 Paris hotel robbery approaches its verdict on May 23, 2025, Kim Kardashian is reliving the psychological toll of the high-profile heist that stole over $10 million in jewellery, including a $4 million diamond ring from Kanye West.

The robbery, one of France’s most significant theft cases, occurred on October 3, 2016, during Paris Fashion Week at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, where two men posing as police officers bound, gagged, and held Kardashian at gunpoint, as she detailed in a 2017 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The high-profile trial of 10 suspects in the multimillion-dollar jewelry heist of Kim Kardashian in Paris in 2016 is underway this week … and three of the defendants in the country's biggest robbery in decades testified today.

Kardashian recounted fearing for her life, believing the assailants would “r*pe” or “shoot” her, before they locked her in a bathroom and fled. The trauma led to a year of paranoia, limiting her public appearances, as shared in a 2020 interview with David Letterman.

French media reports that the suspects meticulously planned the crime, tracking Kardashian’s social media. While she has not attended the trial, her prior statements have shaped the case, with three suspects testifying recently. In 2019, Kardashian noted the ordeal shifted her priorities, fostering a less materialistic outlook for her children.

The trial’s conclusion offers potential emotional closure for Kardashian, whose resilience underscores the vulnerabilities of fame. Her reflections continue to highlight the lasting impact of the robbery on her life and perspective.
