TEHRAN: Khamenei’s spiritual legacy was highlighted by Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin and Yemeni writer Abdullah Ali Hashem Al-Dharihi in separate commentaries on Iran’s late leader.
Dugin told the Islamic Radio and Television Union that Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei was not only a politician and intellectual but also a symbol of spiritual authority.
He said the Iranian system’s main feature was the presence of a spiritual figure at its head, namely the Wilayat-e-Faqih.
Dugin, an Orthodox Christian thinker, said he viewed martyrdom as testimony to truth and expressed sympathy with the Iranian nation. He also described Iran and Russia as fronts of resistance against Western power.
In a separate article, Yemeni writer and political analyst Abdullah Ali Hashem Al-Dharihi said Khamenei shaped regional events through strategic patience and support for resistance movements.
Al-Dharihi said Khamenei preserved Iran’s political independence through sanctions, wars and foreign pressure.

He said the late leader focused on domestic scientific, military and economic strength to support political independence.
The article also said Khamenei kept Palestine at the centre of Iran’s regional policy until the end of his life.
Al-Dharihi said Mojtaba Khamenei continued the late leader’s path with the same confidence in the principles of the Islamic Revolution.
