Karachi Electric (KE) unannounced loadshedding has made citizen’s life miserable  as outages hit several areas late Wednesday.

According to media reports, power supply to, Defence, Clifton, Saddar, Gulistan e Jauhar, Gulshan Iqbal, North Karachi, New Karachi and several other areas remained suspended for hours.

A spokesman for K-Electric, said reduction power supply is due to gas pressure by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

Spokesperson confirmed that  power supply has disrupted after Bin Qasim Power Plant tripped due to low gas pressure.

“Additional loadshedding is being carried out in multiple areas to get tripped units functional again,” the spokesman said

Contradicting KE statement a SSGC spokesman maintained that K-Electric is being provided 160 mmcfd gas.
