Netflix premiered Dhoom Dhaam, a romantic action comedy featuring Yami Gautam Dhar and Pratik Gandhi, on February 14, 2025.

Rishabh Seth directed the film, which Aditya Dhar produced. The movie has received mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. Despite its fresh pairing and vibrant premise, the film’s reception remains a topic of discussion.

Interestingly, producer Aditya Dhar, Yami Gautam’s husband, revealed to Bollywood Hungama that Dhoom Dhaam wasn’t his original vision. The story traces back to Raat Baaki, a shelved project meant to mark his Bollywood directorial debut in 2016 with Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan. “It’s the same story,” Aditya admitted. “We’ve tweaked it to fit today’s audience, making it modern and relatable.”

Raat Baaki hit a roadblock after the 2016 Pulwama attack, which led to a ban on Pakistani actors in Bollywood. With Fawad Khan unable to continue, the film was abandoned. Aditya pivoted, debuting instead with the blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike in 2019, starring Vicky Kaushal and featuring Yami Gautam in a pivotal role. That success set the stage for his later projects, including Dhoom Dhaam.

The plot of Dhoom Dhaam follows a newlywed couple thrust into chaos on their wedding night. Unexpected events force them to flee, triggering a hilarious chase filled with action and romance. This lighthearted twist on the original Raat Baaki concept aims to entertain modern viewers.

Katrina Kaif‘s latest project is “Merry Christmas” (2024), in which she stars alongside Vijay Sethupathi. Meanwhile, Fawad Khan appeared in the fantasy drama “Barzakh” (2024) and is currently filming “Abir Gulaal” with Vaani Kapoor in the UK.

Additionally, Aditya Dhar is busy with his upcoming film, Dhurandhar, which features an impressive cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
