WASHINGTON, United States: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave her position at the end of August but remain a senior outside adviser to President Donald Trump, he announced Wednesday.
Trump said Leavitt wanted to spend more time with her young children and family. He added that she would continue advising him outside the White House and remain involved in the Republican Party.
Leavitt, 28, became the youngest person to serve as a top White House spokesperson. During her tenure, she regularly defended the Trump administration’s agenda during press briefings.
She welcomed her second child, a daughter named Viviana, in May. Leavitt had also postponed maternity leave earlier in the year while balancing her White House duties with family responsibilities.
In a statement following Trump’s announcement, Leavitt thanked the president for the opportunity to represent his administration from the White House podium.

She said she valued challenging what she described as the liberal media and promoting what she viewed as the administration’s achievements.
