KARACHI, Sindh: A Karachi robbery attempt was foiled in Korangi after bystanders threw stones at two suspected robbers, forcing them to flee as the incident was captured on mobile-phone video.
Police said the incident occurred on September 19 in Zaman Town, where two unidentified men allegedly intercepted a salesman working for a private company near a petrol pump.
According to the police account, the suspects attempted to take the man’s belongings. When he resisted, one allegedly struck him with the butt of a pistol, causing an injury, before both men escaped without completing the robbery.
On September 21, a mobile video emerged showing a robbery attempt in Korangi in which a salesman was injured. Footage from the scene shows people standing along both sides of the road as the confrontation unfolds. Several bystanders then began throwing stones towards the suspects, prompting them to abandon the attempt and flee.
Police registered FIR 1087/26 at Zaman Town Police Station against two unidentified suspects under Sections 393 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Section 393 covers attempted robbery, while Section 34 covers acts committed by several people in furtherance of a common intention.

Investigators are obtaining CCTV footage from cameras in the area to identify and trace the suspects, police said. Sindh Police records list Zaman Town Police Station under District Korangi.
