A disturbing video went viral on Sunday, showing a Karachi police officer and three companions assaulting a fruit seller in Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan.
The seller’s young daughter watched in terror as the attack unfolded. Public anger over this incident involving the Karachi police is escalating.
The trouble started over a melon when an officer took it without permission, leading the vendor to object. A verbal argument broke out, and then the officer and his group launched an attack. They physically assaulted the seller and yelled at him in front of his child. Footage of the incident has prompted widespread outrage.

Constable Zafar, the primary aggressor, was terminated from his position, while the three other officers involved have been suspended. An inquiry is currently being processed to determine further disciplinary actions. SSP Central has pledged to implement strict measures against those seen in the video.
