KARACHI: A Karachi oil pipeline leak spilt crude across Khayaban-e-Sehar Street 13 in Defence Housing Authority on Sunday, forcing officials to close the road and suspend supply through the line.
The DHA Vigilance Team blocked general traffic after oil covered part of the roadway, creating slippery conditions, according to police.
Police said officials alerted Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), which sent technical personnel to assess and contain the leak. PARCO also suspended supply through the affected pipeline.

The underground pipeline runs beneath the middle of the road, police said. No injuries were reported following the spill.

Officials had not set a completion time for the repair work. The road was expected to remain closed until workers repaired the pipeline and declared the surface safe.
