KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced plans on Tuesday for a Grand Khidmat Markaz offering passport and national identity card services. The proposed centre would bring several federal services into one location.
Naqvi said departments and organisations under the Ministry of Interior would operate dedicated counters at the facility. Citizens could also obtain arms licences and various no-objection certificates there.
He announced the project during a visit to the ministry’s office on I.I. Chundrigar Road. The ministry described it as Pakistan’s largest planned public facilitation centre.
Naqvi directed officials to prepare and submit a detailed master plan within 10 days. He asked them to account for citizens’ requirements and modern service needs in the design.
Officials must complete the administrative and technical preparations needed to establish the centre. No opening date accompanied the announcement.
Separately, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has outlined a process for recovering access to its Pak-ID mobile application.
According to NADRA’s guidance, users begin by entering their identity card number on the login screen and selecting “Forgot Password”. They then enter the email address associated with their account.

Users who cannot remember that address can provide a current, active email address and select “Go Ahead”, the guidance explains.
A one-time password arrives at the email address provided. Users enter that code and complete the required biometric verification before setting a new password and logging in again.
NADRA advises account holders to use an active email address and keep their login information secure.
