At least 20 sealed shops by police in Empress Market as part of security measures for mourning processions of Muharram-ul-Haram has been robbed.
According to initial report on local news channel ‘Samaa News”, a band of thieves broke into the foul-safe security overnight and made away with money worth over a million rupees from over 20 shops located in Karachi area Empress Market.
The shopkeepers complained that no security arrangements are in place in the market.
It should be mentioned here that the several larceny activities earlier also took place in Old City Area. (PhotoNews / Samaa News)
