The Karachi Traffic Police have rolled out a new traffic plan for Karachi Eid shopping to handle the expected rush at major markets and shopping centres. The plan includes extra deployments, restrictions on rickshaws, taxis and commercial vehicles, and a list of alternate routes across the city.
Traffic DIG Syed Pir Muhammad Shah said the department has stationed section officers and traffic personnel at busy markets across multiple districts starting today. They will work daily from 7pm until late at night to manage congestion, and the department has deployed additional staff on major roads to keep traffic moving.
