Actor Justin Baldoni is “ecstatic” after the Justin Baldoni settlement in the “It Ends With Us” legal dispute with Blake Lively, his lawyer Bryan Freedman said.
Freedman told Extra TV in an interview released Wednesday that Baldoni was “very pleased” with the outcome.
The attorney said Baldoni, 42, had already been removed as a defendant before the settlement was reached.
Freedman said a judge last month dismissed 10 of Lively’s 13 allegations, including sexual harassment, defamation and conspiracy claims.
“This is not his settlement,” Freedman said, adding that Wayfarer Studios remained involved when settlement talks resumed over the weekend.
Freedman said Baldoni viewed the agreement as a logical ending to a case he was already out of. He said Baldoni wanted to help people who felt they had been accused of something they did not do.
Freedman also said Baldoni would continue advocating for women’s rights and domestic violence survivors.
Page Six published photos of Baldoni after the settlement, showing him in Nashville with his wife, Emily. Lively made her first public appearance after the settlement at Monday’s Met Gala.
The remaining claims, breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting retaliation, had been set for trial on May 18 before the settlement was reached.
Both sides released a joint statement saying they remained proud of “It Ends With Us” and supported its goal of raising awareness for domestic violence survivors.
