On October 8, 2025, Tufail Rind, General Secretary of the Mirpur Mathelo Press Club, was fatally shot in a targeted attack in Ghotki, Pakistan. The incident occurred near Masoo Wah on Jarwar Road as Rind rode his motorcycle to drop his children at school. Unidentified assailants opened fire, killing him instantly.
Police shifted Rind’s body to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Mirpur Mathelo for investigation. Ghotki SSP suggested a property dispute as the motive. Two suspects are in custody, with authorities vowing to apprehend all involved. Rind’s eight-year-old niece, injured after falling from the motorcycle, received treatment at DHQ but later died from trauma.
