Bayern initially took the lead in the second half through Alphonso Davies. However, Joselu’s last-minute efforts overturned the deficit, setting up a final against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
The match began evenly, with Real Madrid creating several promising chances. Rodrygo almost scored, hitting the post and then seeing his rebound saved by Manuel Neuer. Controversy was avoided as two balls were on the pitch during his attempt.
Bayern’s unexpected lead came against the flow of the game. Davies, rumoured to be transferred to Real Madrid, scored with a strong right-footed shot from inside the box.
Real Madrid quickly responded but had a goal disallowed due to a foul by Nacho Fernandez on Joshua Kimmich.
Madrid’s persistent pressure paid off in the 87th minute when Neuer mishandled a shot, allowing Joselu to equalize.
Joselu wasn’t finished yet. He scored again during stoppage time, securing Madrid’s lead with a goal confirmed after a VAR review.
Bayern nearly equalized through Matthijs de Ligt, but his goal was disallowed for offside, a decision confirmed on replay.
With Harry Kane already substituted, Bayern struggled to respond, dashing their hopes of a repeat of their 2013 Champions League triumph.
