US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Afghanistan earlier today on a key mission to try to quell tensions over disputed presidential polls which have triggered fears of violence and ethnic unrest and ultimately the country’s descent into chaos and anarchy.
Landing on a pre-dawn, unannounced visit, Kerry had earlier said that Afghanistan faces a “critical moment” in its transition as both Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani insist that they have won the elections.
