Al-Nassr is nearing a £44 million agreement to sign Chelsea forward João Félix, with negotiations progressing quickly, Sky Sports reported. The Portuguese star may join Cristiano Ronaldo’s team for a friendly match against Toulouse on July 30.
Sky Sports reported that Al-Nassr is in talks with João Félix’s representatives and could finalise the deal within the next 24 to 48 hours. The Saudi Pro League club aims to strengthen its squad in order to win the title, outpacing Benfica’s attempts to re-sign the 25-year-old player. If the deal is completed, Félix could make his debut in a friendly match at Untersberg-Arena in Grödig, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Felix joined Chelsea on loan for the 2022/23 season, where he scored four goals in 20 appearances. In 2024, Chelsea signed him permanently from Atletico Madrid for £46.3 million. Felix began his career at Benfica before moving to Atletico in 2019 for a record transfer fee. He won La Liga with Atletico in 2021. On the international stage, he has earned 45 caps for Portugal since 2019.

Felix’s potential departure could allow Chelsea to pursue RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, as discussions are currently ongoing, according to The Athletic. Additionally, Chelsea is in advanced talks with Ajax to acquire centre-back Jorrel Hato, aiming to strengthen their squad for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Felix’s move could elevate Al-Nassr’s global profile, while Chelsea’s pursuit of Simons and Hato signals ambition. The transfer reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in football, complementing regional developments such as Qatar’s residency program. Al-Nassr’s imminent signing of Joao Felix strengthens their title bid, while Chelsea eyes new talents. The deal could reshape both clubs’ seasons.
