Karachi: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on Wednesday reached Machh jail in Balochistan to investigate death row prisoner Saulat Mirza in triple murder case.
According to Samaa correspondent, the investigation team comprises SP CID, SSP Special Branch, and officers from ISI, IB and MI.
DIG Amir Sheikh is heading the JIT that is tasked with assessing revelations of Mirza, a former worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) facing the noose for 1997 murder of MD of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation – now K-Electric – Shahid Hamid, his driver, and security guard.
He was awarded death penalty in May 1999 for the triple homicide.
Earlier this month, Sindh government formed a fresh JIT following Mirza’s video statement in which he claimed that MQM chief Altaf had ordered him to carry out the killings.
Miraz will be sent to gallows on April 30 in Machh jail of Balochistan.
