Brazilian influencer Jennifer Pamplona, who spent over $1 million to resemble Kim Kardashian, has warned about the risks associated with butt lift fillers. Pamplona, who identifies as a “surgery addict,” revealed that polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), a substance commonly used in these procedures, has caused her fertility issues.
Though her infertility is not directly linked to PMMA, it is believed to stem from either improper application or an adverse reaction. The New York Post reports that PMMA can migrate from the injection site to other areas, including the pelvic region, potentially impacting reproductive organ function. Pamplona experienced such migration a decade ago during a bioplasty procedure, which she says affected her reproductive organs and led to her current fertility problems.
“I always dreamed of being a mother. Unfortunately, I now find myself unable to fulfil this dream due to the complications caused by PMMA,” she told Need To Know.
Pamplona began her journey with plastic surgery at the age of 17, undergoing over 30 procedures on her body and face. Her health issues became a “matter of life or death,” according to her surgeon, Dr. Carlos Rios, who noted the severity of her condition post-procedure.
Despite these challenges, Pamplona’s health is improving through a holistic approach involving meditation, a balanced diet, targeted supplementation, and medication. Diagnosed with body dysmorphia in 2022, she has since halted further cosmetic surgeries, though she is considering one final reconstructive surgery to address some ongoing issues.
With 1 million Instagram followers, Pamplona reflects on her experiences, emphasizing the importance of emotional health. “I like to say that if everyone paid attention to their emotional health, procedures would be less frequent,” she stated.
