Jennifer Lawrence, famed actress and Hollywood sweetheart, recently opened up about longstanding rumours that cast her as an alleged third wheel in Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s tumultuous relationship.
During her appearance on Monday’s ‘Watch What Happens to Live With Andy Cohen,’ she was candid about the speculations, firmly stating, “It’s not true,” and labelling them as “Total rumour.”
She further clarified that although she did share a kiss with Hemsworth once, it was “years after” the A-list couple had gone their separate ways. Lawrence’s words have put to rest years of conjecture and rumours about her involvement in the Hemsworth-Cyrus relationship.
A new topic of discussion arose during the interview, questioning whether Miley Cyrus’s dress in her Flowers music video bore a deliberate reference to the dress Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Los Angeles premiere of the first The Hunger Games movie in 2012. Lawrence expressed doubt about any intended connection, stating, “I just assume it was a coincidence.”
Cyrus and Hemsworth
Cyrus and Hemsworth, who started dating in 2009 after co-starring in The Last Song, had an on-again, off-again relationship before finally tying the knot in 2018. However, the marriage was short-lived; by 2019, Cyrus announced their split. Hemsworth filed for divorce 11 days later, which was finalized in January 2020.
Hemsworth has since been linked with model Gabriella Brooks, while Cyrus is reportedly dating Maxx Morando. Although it was heavily rumoured that Cyrus’s Flowers track was a tribute to her ex-husband, the singer clarified that not all her music is directly related to Hemsworth. She emphasized her narrative, stating, “I wouldn’t erase my story or want it to be erased,” and added, “Having an interesting life makes for interesting storytelling.”
