Jelly Roll described performing with Eminem in Detroit as the pinnacle of his career. The country singer expressed his awe during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the 2024 CMA Fest.
Their rendition of “Sing for the Moment” at the Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central marked a high point for him. “When I think about the coolest moments of my career, this has to be at the top,” Jelly Roll explained. “Performing with Eminem in Detroit was just incredible.”
The singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, was initially sceptical when contacted by Eminem’s team. “I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a joke until I met Eminem,” he recounted. Even knowing Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, did little to convince him initially. “I told Paul not to play around. He assured me it was real.”
Jelly Roll struggled to contain his excitement at the event broadcast on a Sunday night. “I was giddy like a child,” he admitted. “You could see it in my performance. It was just so cool.”
