The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan has unveiled the MEXT Teachers Training Scholarship 2024, specifically aimed at primary and secondary school educators in Pakistan.
The scholarship, announced by the Japanese embassy, targets educators with at least five years of experience in public or private schools in Pakistan. According to the official statement released on Saturday, the scholarship is open to teachers aged 35 or younger.
The program offers an 18-month non-degree training course in Japan, culminating in a certificate upon completion.
The training program is exclusively designed for professional development and is not intended for those seeking Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degrees. The focus of the course is to enable Pakistani teachers to research school education in Japan, and to learn new methodologies and teaching techniques from Japanese experts, aiding their professional growth. The deadline for application submissions is set for February 9, 2024.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) of Japan annually offers scholarships to international teachers.
The initiative is part of the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship program, which allows teachers to research school education at designated Japanese educational institutions. This announcement follows last year’s MEXT Research Scholarship 2024 for Masters and PhD students, demonstrating Japan’s ongoing commitment to educational exchange and development.
