The crime rate across Pakistan continues to rise daily, with failures in administration and police effectiveness contributing significantly to the issue. Despite numerous assurances from law enforcement and administrative bodies, their efforts to curb banditry have proven ineffective.
Kidnapping incidents for ransom are notably increasing, with bandits growing bold enough to circulate videos of their captives online. Despite these daring acts, the police have yet to make significant inroads in apprehending the criminals involved.
In a concerning instance reported from Jacobabad, Sindh, bandits abducted Behram Khoso, a local landlord, from the Thul area 19 days ago, demanding a ransom. The criminals have escalated their tactics by circulating a video on social media showing Khoso in chains, appealing to his family to meet the ransom demands, which include 1 crore PKR, two Rado watches, and an iPhone. In the video, Khoso implores his family to sell his land to secure his release.
In response to this alarming situation, Jacobabad police have initiated a comprehensive search operation targeting the bandit gang responsible for Khoso’s abduction. The operation, led by SSP Syed Salim Shah, involves armoured vehicles and advanced machinery, focusing specifically on capturing members of the notorious Chandio gang. Police officials have declared that the operation will persist until all suspects are apprehended, indicating a robust response to the rising criminal activities in the area.
