The Red Zone in Islamabad has been again sealed due to an expected protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Containers now block roads leading into the Red Zone, leaving only Margalla Road open for access. Additional barriers have been set up at Faizabad on the Express Highway, resulting in extended traffic delays. Commuters encountered significant challenges This morning, including those headed to work and schools.
Despite these barriers, PTI leadership has confirmed their intention to proceed with planned rallies throughout Punjab.
Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan recently reinforced calls for nationwide protests to support judicial independence. He has scheduled demonstrations in Mianwali, Bahawalpur, and Faisalabad and a significant gathering at D-Chowk in Islamabad this Friday.

Last month, authorities arrested ten PTI Members of the National Assembly under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Act 2024 following a demonstration in Sangjani near Islamabad.
In Lahore, police disbanded a PTI rally on September 21 after it exceeded its permitted time and ended at 6 p.m.
Simultaneously, security measures have intensified in Rawalpindi, where containers now restrict access to PTI’s protest venue at Liaquat Bagh.
