TEHRAN, Iran: An Iran-US soldier bounty reportedly offers the equivalent of USD 30,000 for killing or capturing American military personnel, according to Iranian media.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Army Chief Amir Hatami announced the reported plan on Sunday. The report also said that women would be eligible for twice the stated reward. The reported bounty comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States.
Hardline newspapers Hamshahri and Kayhan also promoted the reported reward on their front pages. The supplied material says the coverage used prominent imagery and confrontational language toward US forces.
