JERUSALEM, Israel: Iran’s military recovery has progressed faster than Israeli expectations after the 2026 Middle East war, The Jerusalem Post reported, citing Israel Defence Forces and Mossad officials.
Israeli officials were particularly concerned about renewed Iranian ballistic missile production, the newspaper said. However, the report did not provide independently verified production figures.
The Jerusalem Post estimated that Iran held about 1,300 missiles in June 2025. It said the arsenal had grown to roughly 2,500 before the February 2026 war.
The newspaper said Israel and the United States struck more than 2,600 missile and military-industrial targets during the conflict. It also reported about 30,000 combined strikes across Iran.
According to the outlet, Iran has found ways to restart weapons production. The report cited senior Iranian statements and what it described as its own confirmation, but did not identify the officials involved.
The Israel Defence Forces said its wartime attacks significantly damaged several Iranian military capabilities and limited Tehran’s ability to rebuild at its previous scale and pace.
The IDF said it continues to monitor Iran’s rehabilitation efforts but withheld specific estimates, saying disclosure could expose intelligence sources and methods.

Reuters separately reported on August 4 that U.S. forces had used virtually all available ATACMS and Precision Strike Missiles, citing two unidentified sources familiar with stockpile data.
