Apple is gearing up to revolutionise its iPhone 17 series with significant camera enhancements and a bold new design.

According to leaked details and dummy models, the lineup, Set to launch later in 2025, promises sharper imagery, advanced features, and a reimagined aesthetic, catering to photography enthusiasts and tech fans alike.

All four iPhone 17 models will boast a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, doubling the current 12MP sensor’s resolution. This upgrade delivers crisper selfies, better low-light performance, and richer detail. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will feature three 48-megapixel rear cameras: a main Fusion lens, an Ultra Wide lens (from the iPhone 16 Pro), and a new Tetraprism Telephoto lens for superior zoom and cropping. These models will also support 8K video recording, dual video capture, and a rumoured mechanical aperture for adjustable depth-of-field.

The ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, at 5.5mm, will sport a single 48MP Fusion lens, omitting Ultra-Wide and Telephoto capabilities. The standard iPhone 17 retains a dual-lens setup with a 48MP Fusion and 12MP Ultra-wide camera, similar to the iPhone 16, with the upgraded front camera as its primary improvement.

Innovative Design Shift

Apple plans to replace the traditional square camera bump with a horizontal camera bar across the Pro, Pro Max, and Air models. The bar will house lenses, flash, mic, and LiDAR sensor in a sleek layout. The standard iPhone 17 will maintain its vertical dual-lens design, ensuring continuity for base model users.
