The interior ministry on Monday summoned the Frontier Constabulary (FC) to assist Islamabad police with the security of the federal capital.

Around 3,000 FC personnel will be present in the capital to help the police with ensuring peace.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) are scheduled to hold rallies in Islamabad on August 14 as part of their protests against the current government.

Talking to the media, former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that majority of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s (PML-N) senior leadership is of the opinion that both Qadri’s revolution march and Imran Khan’s Azadi march should be allowed to go ahead in Islamabad.

He had said, according to the federal and Punjab government’s estimations, the PTI and the PAT might stage a sit-in lasting between 10 to 15 days.
