Inter Miami will debut in the FIFA Club World Cup, opening the tournament against Al Ahly of Egypt.
The FIFA Club World Cup is a new competition edition featuring the highest number of matches ever played in the tournament’s history.
Inter Miami, which includes stars like Messi and Luis Suárez, avoided many of the tougher opponents despite being in Pot 4 during Thursday’s draw. In Group A, the MLS team is paired with Palmeiras (Brazil), Porto (Portugal), and Al Ahly (Egypt).
The inaugural match is set for June 15, 2025, at the Hard Rock Stadium (previously known as Dolphins Stadium). This game will officially kick off the tournament, with FIFA to announce additional match details at a later date.
New Club World Cup Format
The expanded Club World Cup will see FIFA strategically assigning high-interest matches to larger-capacity stadiums to maximize fan attendance. Once tickets are available, they are expected to sell quickly.
Additionally, FIFA confirmed that fans can watch the 2025 Club World Cup live for free via the DAZN platform, increasing accessibility for viewers.
Inter Miami’s participation in this historic tournament signals a significant moment for MLS, as the team competes against some of the world’s top clubs. Fans eagerly await Messi and his squad’s performance on this global stage.
