In a startling incident in Pune, India, a local businessman, Nikhil Khanna, 36, died following a punch from his wife. The dispute, which took a fatal turn, was reportedly over Nikhil’s refusal to take his wife Renuka to Dubai for her birthday celebration.
Nikhil, a 36-year-old businessman in the construction industry, had married Renuka, 38, in a love marriage six years ago. The conflict arose on Friday afternoon, according to a senior officer at the Wanavdi police station. The argument escalated over Nikhil’s failure to provide lavish gifts for Renuka’s birthday and anniversary, as well as his reluctance to travel to Delhi for the birthdays of some relatives.
During the heated exchange, Renuka struck Nikhil in the face, resulting in severe injuries. The punch was so forceful that it broke Nikhil’s nose and some teeth, causing heavy bleeding and rendering him unconscious. Following this tragic event, the police have arrested Renuka, charging her under IPC Section 302, with an investigation pending. This incident highlights the severe and sometimes unforeseen consequences of domestic disputes.
