NISSHIN: India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat against Pakistan in Saturday’s Asian Games 2026 men’s cricket final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan.
Pakistan made one change to their side. All-rounder Saad Masood replaced fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Iyer and Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan did not shake hands at the toss.
Both teams meet for the first time in men’s cricket at the Asian Games. India entered the final after winning their last five encounters against Pakistan.
Pakistan secured their place with a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh on Thursday. India beat Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the other semi-final.
Pakistan playing XI: Sahibzada Farhan (captain), Maaz Sadaqat, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan (wicketkeeper), Hasan Nawaz, Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Ahmed Daniyal, Saad Masood, Sufyan Moqim and Abrar Ahmed.
