The administration of Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail has officially denied rumours regarding PTI founder Imran Khan. Officials dismissed claims that the former prime minister had been transferred from the facility.
In an official statement, jail authorities confirmed that Khan is still incarcerated there. They also addressed the speculation regarding his physical condition.
“The is no truth to reports about his transfer from Adiala jail,” officials stated. They added that he is “fully healthy and receiving complete medical attention.”
Separately, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif made remarks about Khan’s prison conditions. He claimed the former premier was receiving comforts not available in standard incarceration. Asif stated Khan had access to a custom menu, a television, and exercise equipment. He contrasted this with his own past experience in jail.

“We slept on cold floors, ate jail food, and had only two blankets in January with no hot water,” the Defence Minister recalled. He alleged that Khan had been provided with a double bed and a velvet mattress. The minister’s comments present a starkly different picture of the imprisonment. They highlight the ongoing political tensions surrounding Khan’s incarceration.
Khan has been in jail since August 2023 following his ouster from power. He faces multiple legal cases, including charges of corruption and terrorism.
