Beyoncé has already secured two awards tonight: Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her duet “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus and Best Country Album, making her the first Black woman to win in this category in fifty years.
A highlight of the evening was a poignant performance by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, who paid tribute to Southern California wildfire victims with their rendition of “California Dreamin'” by The Mamas & The Papas.
The duo later won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song “Die With A Smile,” during which Lady Gaga advocated for the LGBTQ community, emphasizing, “Trans people are not invisible… The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love.”
Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon triumphed in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category for her album Triveni. This marked her first Grammy win following a nomination in 2009 for Soul Call.
The ceremony honoured the late Prince with a lifetime achievement award, commemorating his enduring influence five years after a previous Grammy tribute.
