The 2025 Grammy Awards, held at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, honour the notable musical accomplishments of 2024. Beyoncé tops the nominations this year with 11, mostly for her album Cowboy Carter, released in 2024.

Beyoncé has already secured two awards tonight: Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her duet “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus and Best Country Album, making her the first Black woman to win in this category in fifty years.

A highlight of the evening was a poignant performance by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, who paid tribute to Southern California wildfire victims with their rendition of “California Dreamin'” by The Mamas & The Papas.

The duo later won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song “Die With A Smile,” during which Lady Gaga advocated for the LGBTQ community, emphasizing, “Trans people are not invisible… The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love.”

Indian-American vocalist Chandrika Tandon triumphed in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category for her album Triveni. This marked her first Grammy win following a nomination in 2009 for Soul Call.

The ceremony honoured the late Prince with a lifetime achievement award, commemorating his enduring influence five years after a previous Grammy tribute.

Noteworthy winners of the night included:

  • Best Pop Vocal Album: Short N’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter
  • Best New Artist: Chappell Roan
  • Best Comedy Album: The Dreamer by Dave Chappelle
  • Best Dance/Electronic Album: Brat by Charli XCX
  • Best Music Video: “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar, who also swept the rap categories with wins for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Album for Alligator Bites Never Heal.
  • Best R&B Performance: “Made for Me (Live on BET)” by Muni Long
  • Best Rock Album: Hackney Diamonds by Rolling Stones
  • Best Americana Album: Trail Of Flowers by Sierra Ferrell
  • Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical: Daniel Nigro

The evening’s festivities highlight individual triumphs and reflect the broader scope of influence and innovation across the music industry.
