Facing Luka Doncic, Gilgeous-Alexander showcased superior scoring, playmaking, and defensive skills. Doncic scored 19 points but struggled against Oklahoma City’s defence, which included Lu Dort and rookie Cason Wallace.
Kyrie Irving scored 20 points for Dallas, and Daniel Gafford added a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome Oklahoma City’s performance.
The Thunder aim to maintain their momentum in Game 2 in Oklahoma City. Gilgeous-Alexander’s 11-point burst in the second quarter helped establish a 62-53 halftime lead.
Despite a Dallas rally, the Thunder held strong. Isaiah Joe, Lu Dort, and Williams made timely contributions, maintaining an 89-79 lead into the final quarter. The Thunder extended their advantage, emphasizing their postseason intentions with a solid 117-95 win.
