Sindh Education Department personnel were cleared after an investigation started after a video emerged on social media for selling textbooks to a scrap dealer in Ghotki.

The Sindh government formed a commission to investigate the scrapping of 2016 to 2020 textbooks in Ghotki.

The probe report said the books sold in a scrap were not from Sindh Textbook Board (STBB) but from private or semi-government publishers who work with the Education department.

The sold books were not government property, nor was the seller an Education department official.

No Sindh government employee was found guilty during an investigation, and private staff sold the books for junk, according to the article.
