GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip: A Gaza City cafe strike killed at least six Palestinians and wounded 14 at the fishing harbour on Tuesday, medics told Reuters.
The Israeli military said it targeted Hamas commanders and other militants. It said one target had taken part in the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.
However, the military did not publicly release evidence supporting those claims, Reuters reported. The strike involved two missiles that hit a small cafe in western Gaza City.
Hamas said a child was among those killed. It also accused Israel of trying to undermine the US-backed plan to end the war. Hamas did not say whether commanders or other militants died.

The attack came a day after US envoy Jared Kushner left Jerusalem without a breakthrough. He had met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after earlier talks with mediators and Hamas leaders in Egypt.
Israel wants Hamas to disarm before Israeli forces withdraw. Hamas wants Israel to follow the ceasefire terms and withdraw its troops. The dispute over that sequence continues to stall the plan.
