On July 9, 2025, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at its Galaxy Unpacked event in Brooklyn, New York, introducing its thinnest foldable device yet, measuring 4.2mm when unfolded, and equipped with a 200MP camera and advanced Galaxy AI features.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7, weighing 215g and measuring 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded, is Samsung’s slimmest foldable device, surpassing the Oppo Find N5’s thickness of 4.21mm. It features a 6.5-inch AMOLED cover display and an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED main display, both of which have a 120Hz refresh rate. Thanks to a new hinge design, the crease is less visible. The device is available in three colours: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and Silver Shadow, and boasts a sleek and durable build.

It offers a 45% improvement in performance and a 40% increase in efficiency compared to the Z Fold 6. The device features a triple-camera system that includes a 200MP main sensor (f/1.7, with optical image stabilisation), a 12MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2), and a 10MP telephoto camera (f/2.4, with 3x zoom). Additionally, it has two 10MP selfie cameras, replacing the previous 4MP under-display camera. Galaxy AI technology enhances the photo processing capabilities.
The Z Fold 7 retains a 4,400mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, unchanged from the Z Fold 6. It runs One UI 8 on Android 16, offering seven years of updates and a six-month free Google AI Pro subscription ($19.99/month value). Priced at $1,999.99 in the U.S, it reflects a $100 price increase, with pre-orders open and shipping starting on July 25.
