Former president Pervez Musharraf can leave Pakistan for UAE this week following a possible removal of his from the Exit Control List (ECL),

Sources said Nasim apprised Musharraf that his name could possibly be excluded from the ECL  which will enable him to leave for Sharjah where his 95-year-old mother, Zarin Musharraf, is under treatment in W.W. Wilson Hospital and said to be in critical state.

Musharraf was told that Sindh High Court and the Supreme Court may issue rulings in this regard, and that the government is also giving positive signals for his exit.

However, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said  that Musharraf would not be allowed to move abroad. But he offered that the government could bring back Musharraf’s mother by air ambulance
