The latest Qamar Javed Bajwa health update confirms that the former Chief of Army Staff fainted due to a heart block rather than slipping, according to a family source. He is currently receiving medical treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The source clarified that a problem in the heart’s electrical system caused a Third-Degree Atrioventricular (AV) Block. This led to a sudden loss of consciousness, which resulted in a fall and a head injury.
According to the family’s account, Gen (retd) Bajwa felt unwell on the evening of Monday, February 9. Despite this, he went for his usual evening walk and exercise. Later that night, he experienced nausea and went to the washroom. After vomiting, he fainted and fell.
Family members rushed him to CMH within 15 minutes. Blood was reportedly seen coming from his ears following the fall.
